Metaburn
The Virtual Playa
The old Burning Man ended when the desert became uninhabitable. Metaburn rose from its ashes inside the metaverse — a temporary city constructed anew each year in a different corner of digital space, governed by the same ten principles, expanded by infinite possibility.
Radical Creation
In Metaburn, gifting is the only economy and art is the only infrastructure. Buildings dissolve after seven days. The sculptures light the sky for one night before the fire consumes them. Nothing persists except what was felt, what was shared, what was burned into memory.
The Burn
At the end of each Metaburn gathering, the central effigy is set alight in a ceremony that occurs simultaneously across every timezone. The fire is real — generated by collective intention algorithms that physicalize emotion as visible energy. Those who witness it rarely describe it the same way twice.
